Interests
I am interested in the atmospheric oxidation of biogenic emissions and subsequent interactions with weather and climate. I am also interested in using field measurements to better understand our changing atmosphere.
Education
Bachelor of Science: Chemistry – Biochemistry, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2015-2019)
Projects
Atmospheric Science and Chemistry Measurement Network (ASCENT)
I am maintaining a field site as part of ASCENT, a project designed to gather long-term, real-time measurements of aerosol composition across the United States. ASCENT currently consists of 12 field sites spread across a wide range of locations and environments. Each site chemically speciates aerosol by its metals, black carbon, inorganic, and organic species, in addition to measuring aerosol size distributions. Our site, Look Rock, is located on a ridge between the Smoky Mountains and the Tennessee Valley, and exemplifies a mixed anthropogenic/biogenic atmosphere in the Southeastern United States. We work alongside a suite of instruments maintained by the National Park Service monitoring additional physical and chemical measurements of aerosols and gases.
