The Surratt Group will participate in the BEACHON-RoMBAS field campaign, which will occur from July 15-August 15, 2011, by deploying a high-volume PM2.5 filter sampler at USFS Manitou Forest Observatory.  Filters collected from these sampler will be used in chemically speciating the fine organic aerosol fraction using LC/MS, GC/MS, off-line TAG-GC/MS, and OC/EC techniques. This should provide some insights into the sources of the organic aerosol during this campaign.  The foci of the BEACHON-RoMBAS campaign include the emissions of primary biological particles and secondary organic aerosol (SOA) precursors, and their transformation and impacts in the atmosphere.  An important angle in the evaluation of the importance of water availability in those emissions, transformations, and impacts.  For more information on this field campaign visit:  http://cires.colorado.edu/jimenez-group/wiki/index.php/BEACHON-RoMBAS
